Backpain

Back pain without radiating pain in the arms or legs should, if there are no neurological deficits, first be treated with medication and physiotherapy. If there is no improvement after 4-6 weeks, the next step is the radiological evaluation with X-ray and MR and the targeted treatment, possibly also with targeted infiltration under X-ray or CT control. If this therapy does not lead to any improvement after 12 weeks, the operation should be discussed, provided the findings explain the symptoms. This prevents the development of sequelae such as depression, obesity as a result of reduced exercise or social problems.
